If you've spent a winter in Iowa, you'll know it's no joke. Whether you're dealing with freezing temperatures and mad winds, or heavy snow and thick ice on the roads, you definitely need a vehicle that can handle difficult road conditions consistently and without fail.

That's why so many customers at Deery Nissan of Dubuque choose an SUV. They work perfectly in winter (and summer) weather conditions, and they're versatile enough to suit commuters, weekend adventurers and families, with a range of brands, sizes and specs to choose from.

If you're looking for an SUV, you already know you want performance, safety, traction and comfort, and the good news is you can find a used SUV that ticks every box at our dealership.

Nissan Rogue - Winter-Ready Compact SUV

At Deery Nissan of Dubuque, we often recommend the Nissan Rogue to set you up for winter. Our clients love it because the Rogue handles everything with ease, offering a capable ride with fuel efficiency and real comfort in that spacious cabin.

For an SUV, the Nissan Rogue also has great fuel economy, so it's a really good choice if you regularly make long journeys across the state. Plus, there's plenty of cargo space, so you can load up for those road trips or bulk buy groceries to save multiple trips.

Nissan Pathfinder - Three-Row Winter Warrior

If you're looking for the next size and spec up, check out the Nissan Pathfinder. It's great if your family's on the larger side or you're looking for a three-row SUV for space and with winter performance in mind.

Many of the used Pathfinder SUVs have selectable drive modes and Intelligent 4x4 features for expert handling in changing winter weather conditions. Because the Pathfinder's bigger, it also feels incredibly stable and dependable, so you'll have the confidence you need to drive around Dubuque in the wildest weather.

Nissan Murano - Luxury and Comfort

Another good option is the Nissan Murano, which is popular with drivers looking for comfort. There's available AWD for traction and plenty of great safety technologies such as automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring.

Used Murano's tend to offer plenty of luxurious features at a great price point. For example, you might find leather seats, heated steering wheels and advanced infotainment, all within your budget.

What to Look For in a Winter SUV

These advanced features often kick in before driver responses, too, for reliable protection when weather conditions are poor.
